Commercial DC Fast Charging

This type of charger is mostly used in a commercial or industrial setting. These chargers can provide as much as 150 miles of charge in an hour. This type of charger can provide an 80% charge in a matter of 20 – 30 minutes which makes this type the most desirable charger when on the go.
DC Fast charging is the fastest type of charging currently available (up to 350kW.) They differ from the Level 1 and Level 2 chargers in that they bypass the car’s onboard charger and deliver Direct Current to the battery. The onboard chargers’ purpose is to convert the Alternating current from the Level 1 and Level 2 chargers and convert it to Direct Current. Charging rates can be greatly accelerated when bypassing this onboard charging hardware (350kW vs. 19.2kW.)
